The feeling is neutral: a guide to tonal interiors
Our designers talk about why less is more and the science of calm.

If you flip through any interior design magazine, you'll notice that monochromatic tones are back in style. Not that we at Torin are obsessed with following trends, but it's obvious that some ideas are simply timeless. A tonal interior basically consists of choosing a main color and combining it with different shades from the same color family. Sounds simple, right?
Well, tonal design is easy to understand, but difficult to execute. There's a reason why 50 Shades of Grey isn't for everyone, after all. If you're just starting out, stick to neutral color palettes, whites, or beiges, as it's easier to go wrong with them than with bolder shades.
As designers, we use tonal decor to make a space feel spacious and calm. It's especially useful in bathrooms. When decorating a neutral interior, it's crucial to find the right balance between warm and cool tones. Otherwise, the decor will quickly become too plain.
